1. SPARK ANGLE
MEASURING SYSTEM
This is a Universal Type Testing
system for Two-wheeler manufacturing companies in Automobile
sector. It is used to check the timings of the spark generated
in the petrol ignition systems. Different types of Ignition
systems like Fly Wheel Magneto (FWM), Capacitor Discharge
Ignition (CDI) etc., can be tested in the production
line. Complete automatic
testing with PASS/FAIL control is incorporated in the
system.

A custom built system designed to
test the analog car clocks of International brand. The system
measures parameters like no-load/load current, master clock
frequency, time-rate (TR), accelerated mode current, response
time and performance under variable battery voltage
conditions. The system employs digital tuning techniques to
achieve minimum time rate for factory-set conditions. It
differentiates lighting sources of the assembly through their
color discrimination during automatic testing process.

3. ELR SPRING FORCE AND PENDULUM TESTING SYSTEM
Emergency Locking Retractor
(ELR), a critical life saving component in automobile industry
is tested for the correct performance characteristics. It is a
PC based testing solution constructed using National
Instruments products. Used to check
the spring characteristics of the webbing spindle and the
impact force response and the webbing strength. It is a dual
function system covering two test stations. Supported by Lab
View based applications, it is a user-friendly menu-driven
system with many features.

4. ELR ENDURANCE TESTING SYSTEM
It is an Endurance testing system
used to ascertain the reliability of the ELR units
manufactured in the production line. ELR is used as a life
saving device in automotive vehicles. It employs a variable
speed drive motor and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). It
is a PLC based solution designed using Siemens Pro-tool system
software and Simatic S-700 series PLC
hard wares. It is a multiple ELR (6 units at a time) testing
system. It automatically checks and records the locking
feature of the ELR assembly.

5. G-LOCK TESTING SYSTEM
It is one of the critical testing
system for ELR assemblies. The locking feature of the
Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) is tested under simulated
conditions. Webbing pay-out and locking feature are tested
using the critical machine. It is a PC based solution for
measurement and testing but the test sequence is controlled by
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). It measures the
acceleration of the simulated mechanical carriage movement,
webbing pay-out by displacement sensor. The testing system is
synchronized with the control system using hardware triggering
signal.

6. BLDC DRIVES
Brushless DC (BLDC) motor drives
is an advanced technology solution for variable speed DC
motors. It is a DSP based product employing complete solid
state power switching techniques. The Classical commutator for
DC motors is eliminated by electronic commutating circuit. The
commutation timing, start-up sequence, firing MOSFET switches,
protection of power devices, measurement of critical
parameters, handling of speed control loop and online
reporting with diagnostic through serial port or handled by a
powerful hybrid type DSP chip from Motorola. The product is
developed for aero-space applications of US Federal
Government.

7.TEST BED MONITORING SYSTEM
It is a multi-channel fast data
acquisition system specifically engineered for gas turbines
test bed. It is a in house micro-processor based
development solution for parallel operation. 500 channels each
with 100 K samples/second are scanned and stored for offline
analysis. Parameters like vibration, speed, noise, temperature
etc., are measured and logged in PC. The sensor interfaces
consists of signal conditioning, excitation supply,
programmable gain amplifier and signal isolation etc.

8.
DISTRIBUTED DISPLAY SYSTEM
It is a distributed data display
system specifically designed and supplied for indicating
remotely measured parameters received via telemetry system. A
total of about 64 monitoring laboratories are interconnected
via RS 485 network. The telemetry receiver station addresses
the data according to the respective destinations. Each unit
is a microcontroller standalone indicating instrument with LED
display and keyboard with simple operation menu. In addition
to the remote data each unit can be configured to measure and
display the local parameters like temperature, pressure, load
current and binary status etc.

9. MOTOR TESTING SYSTEM
It is a PC based measuring
application to test motor characteristics. It is a universal
design with necessary sensors and interfaces to measure the
parameters like speed, load current, waveform, peak current,
battery voltages etc. A menu driven operating procedure is
supported to operate the entire tests through the keyboard of
the system. The data is acquired with trigger input of the
system and logged for offline analysis. The current signals
acquired are plotted to get the actual switching
characteristics of the load current. Many DC motors operating
using batteries in automobile industry are being tested using
this machine.
