1. POWER FACTOR
CONTROLLER
The energy
saving consciousness of
BIT-SYS
resulted in developing a state of art solution for power
industry. BIT-SYS developed a DSP based solution for automatic
improvement of power factor for small and medium load power
consumers. Motorola DSP 56F805 is exploited to device a power
factor measurement technique along with other parameters like -
line voltages, load currents, capacitor currents and system
frequency. The other parameters - active power, reactive power,
peak load demand etc are derived from the above actual
measurements.
The
capacitor banks are switched on/off smoothly with zero crossing
sensing of the power line frequency. Fully solid state
electronic components are used as a switching devices for the
capacitor banks. A set of 3 phase capacitor banks are mounted in
the panel according to the capacity required.
The DSP
based controller unit is a panel mount instrument incorporated
in the panel as the master device for the application. The CT
and PT connections from the field are brought to the power
factor panel and terminated to the controller. LED display and
keyboard are provided on the unit for display of the measured
parameters in sequence. The unit measures continuously the power
factor and controls the switching of the capacitor banks to
maintain the reactive power minimum. The parameters are measured
using the voltage and current waveforms recorded.

2. SIGNAL CONDITIONERS AND ISOLATORS
These
modular products are designed specifically for process control
and instrumentation interfaces for industrial environment. DIN
rail mountable compact modules includes for universal inputs
like thermocouple signals, RTD sensors, Strain gauge elements,
millivolts and milliamperes etc. Isolator modules have wide
bandwidth with fast response which shall be useful for
acquiring relatively fast sensor signals like DC currents.
This modules are designed with no manual adjustments for span
and gain adjustment.

3. MEASURING PADS
These
are mainly compact versatile block boxes which measures
process signals in floating condition. The measuring pads are
geographically distributed in the plant and networked using a
single network cable. These isolated measuring pads digitizes
the analog values and the binary status information and send
to the network masters through the network cable. Each unit is
designed to handle 8 no. of I/Os.

4. DATA LOGGERS
The data
loggers are developed mainly for portable applications. These
data loggers are stand alone and versatile type with built-in
diagnostic features, menu driven operating procedures, high
speed switching circuits and programmable filters. These data
loggers are very compact and battery operated. The units are
custom configurable using basic modules for I/O operations.

5. BLDC DRIVES
Brushless
DC (BLDC) motor drives is an advanced technology solution for
variable speed DC motors. It is a DSP based product employing
complete solid state power switching techniques. The Classical
commutator for DC motors is eliminated by electronic commutating
circuit. The commutation timing, start-up sequence, firing
MOSFET switches, protection of power devices, measurement of
critical parameters, handling of speed control loop and online
reporting with diagnostic through serial port or handled by a
powerful hybrid type DSP chip from Motorola. The product is
developed for aero-space applications of US Federal Government.
